Lyons is the home turf of some of the fasted junior and senior slalom racers in the US. With the Junior World Championships in the US and the Junior Olympics in Colorado this year, we expect to see one of the fastest and most hotly contested races at LOG ever.
The Slalom Race will be held on the North St. Vrain in Meadow Park. Race Headquarters will be next to the Registration/Info tent at Bohn Park.
Prizes will be awarded in the following divisions:
• Men’s Open K1, C1 and C2.
• Women’s Open K1, C1 and C2.
• Junior Men over 14 years old K1, C1 and C2.
• Junior Women over 14 years old K1, C1 and C2.
• Junior Men 14 and under K1, C1 and C2.
• Junior Women 14 and under K1, C1 and C2.
Whitewater Slalom (Canoe slalom since November 2008) is one of two Kayak/Canoe events featured in the Summer Olympic Games. It’s a lot like ski racing, only on moving water and you can’t touch a gate without a two second penalty.
